Ausmectin® Sheep Drench
Active constituents: ACTIVE CONSTITUENTS: IVERMECTIN 0.8 g/L

AUSMECTIN® SHEEP DRENCH contains ivermectin, a member of the macrocyclic lactone class of chemicals, which has a unique mode of action. It acts selectively in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells resulting in paralysis and death of the parasite. Therefore, AUSMECTIN® SHEEP DRENCH has been used for the control and treatment of ivermectin-sensitive gastrointestinal roundworms in sheep, including benzimidazole, levamisole and morantel resistant strains of Haemonchus contortus, Ostertagia circumcincta and Trichostrongylus colubriformis. It is also effective against lungworm (Dictyocaulus filaria), itchmite (Psorergates ovis) and all parasitic larval stages of nasal bot (Oestrus ovis) in sheep. Ivermectin has a long intrinsic half-life, which provides excellent residual protection against parasitic reinfestation for a varying period depending on the target parasite.

When used as directed AUSMECTIN® SHEEP DRENCH may be used in sheep of all ages. Ewes may be treated at any stage of pregnancy. Some sheep may cough slightly after treatment. This passing response is of no consequence.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Administer orally using any standard drenching equipment or any equipment that
provides a consistent dose volume. Dose and equipment should be checked before drenching commences. The dose rate is 1 mL per each 4 kg bodyweight.

A representative sample of animals should be weighed before treatment. Dose the mob to the heaviest animal by live weight in each group (ewes, wethers, rams, lambs). Do not under dose. Where there is a large variation in size within the group, dose rate should be based on the label directions for each weight range. Drafting into two or more lines may be appropriate to avoid excessive overdosing. Consult your veterinarian or State Department of Agriculture for assistance in the complete parasite control program.

WITHHOLDING PERIODS: MEAT: DO NOT USE less than 10 days before slaughter for human consumption.
MILK: DO NOT USE on lactating ewes or within 28 days of lambing where milk or milk products may be used for human consumption.
