Avimec is a topical 'drop on' liquid for the treatment of Scaly Face Mite (Knemidokoptes pilae) in budgerigars. Avimec is for external use only and is safe to use in conjunction with food additives and supplements and with other oral medications.

Scaly Face Mite (or Burrowing Mites) are common parasites that infect budgerigars. The mite burrows into featherless areas of the bird, feeding on keratin and leaving characteristic honeycomb lesions as they burrow deeper into the tissue around the cere. Eventually, they make their way down the beak, affecting not only the beak but the cere and eyelids. The mites also attack the legs and feet of the bird, and in really severe cases, the bird’s vent can be infested.

The tissue damage can be extremely painful. If left untreated these burrowing mites will cause severe deformities of the beak, to the point that eating and drinking become very difficult and birds can actually starve to death.

Scaly Face Mite is highly contagious to birds and any infection must be contained. You can only do this by treating all the birds in your aviary.

Vetafarm’s Avimec is a highly effective treatment against Scaly Face Mite and is simple to administer. Treating this mite requires patience, and multiple treatments over time, depending on the condition of the bird and severity of the infestation. It can be as simple as applying Avimec and keeping on track with treatments – if you do this you’ll subdue this despicable mite with little hassle. These mites only live on the body, so it is not necessary to treat the cage with a mite spray.

Description

Veterinus Dema Gel Ointment is the number one herbal skin hydrogel, for intensive and rapid skin care, plus a protective barrier effective against foreign contaminants.

Derma Gel provides and maintains a moist epidermal environment, with the ability to help clean and deride necrotic tissue, encourage natural hair re-growth and maximise skin smoothness.

Features:

• Encourages wounds to heal from the sides as well as the bottom.

Instructions:
Daily cleanse the affected area with warm water or a saline solution only, so as to preserve epithelial cells from irritation. Apply Veterinus Derma GeL® generously two or three times a day as needed. To help prevent skin proliferation, extend application to the surrounding area. Spray 3 to 4 times a day.

Ingredients:
Water, Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Sorbus (Pyrus Sorbus) Extr., Glycerin, Hydrocotyle (Centella Asiatica) Extr., Calendula Officinalis Extr., Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Bicarbonate, Carbomer, Sweet Marjoram (Origanum Majorana) Extr., Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia) Extr., Thyme (Thymus Vulgaris) Extr., Sage (Salvia Officinalis) Extr.

A liquid electrolyte to provide energy and replace electrolytes lost during periods of stress.

Common stress factors are;
– very hot days
– illness
– transportation
– vaccination.

It is also shown that, mixed with a Calcium supplement, it can improve eggshell quality, in particular during the hotter months (greater then 25 °C).

Store below 30°(room temperature)

Directions for Use: Use 4mL per 2kg body weight, in 500mL of water for each bird. Give every daily during very hot weather and other items where stress is caused.

Please note this product can be consumed neat, please follow direct dose rate of 4mL per 2kg body weight.

This product is also applicable for Birds. Same rate of use applies based on 2mL per 1kg body weight.

Vetsense Cocciprol is for the prevention and treatment of Coccidiosis in chickens (broilers, broiler breeders, replacement pullets), turkeys, ducks and pigeons. Vetsense Cocciprol is administered through the drinking water as an aid in the prevention of economically important strains of coccidiosis including E.Tenella, E.Necatrix and most strains of E.Acervulina. Cocciprol Features: Easily mixed into daily drinking water Can be used both as preventative and as treatment NIL WITHHOLDING PERIOD for eggs or meat Active Ingredient: 200g/kg Amprolium Directions for Use: Using the teaspoon provided (1 level tsp = 3g, 1 rounded tsp = 5g) Prevention dosage Larger Flocks: 5g in 4L of drinking water Smaller Flocks: 2.5g (half rounded tsp) in 2L of drinking water Administer for 24 hours every fourth day during periods of likely infection. This action helps to control the coccidia by interrupting the life cycle and encourages immunity to develop. Treatment dosage Stage 1 Larger Flocks: 5g in 4L of drinking water. Smaller Flocks: 2.5g (half rounded tsp) in 2L of drinking water. Administer continuously for 5 to 7 days. Stage 2 After the initial treatment period, lower the dose rate as per below for another 5 to 7 days. Larger Flocks: 3g in 4L of drinking water Smaller Flocks: 1.5g (half level tsp) in 2L of drinking water This gradual reduction in the level of treatment assists the birds to develop immunity while maintaining some level of protection. Administration: Premix the amount required into ½ litre of water first and when completely dissolved add to drinking water, mixing thoroughly. Example: Mix 5g of Cocciprol into ½ litre of water then add the remaining 3.5L of water to make up the required 4L solution. A FRESH SOLUTION SHOULD BE PREPARED DAILY. Warnings: Continual overdosing will lead to birds losing muscle condition and strength. Signs of this include twisted necks and lameness. Do not administer B group vitamins whilst treating with Cocciprol.
