HORSE

Joint Supplement for Animals such as: dogs and horses.

Psyllium is high in fibre and mucilage and when combined with water it swells to many times its original size, becoming slimy and gelatinous. Diarrhoea is inhibited via the absorption of excess moisture and bulking up of faeces, and constipation is alleviated by the softening of stool and the promotion of bowel movement by the extra volume.
For horses, psyllium husk’s ability to pick up sand and move it through the gut is particularly valuable in the preventation and/or treatment of sand colic. Periodic addition of psyllium to the feed is practised in some sandy soil areas.

The finely powdered inner bark of the Red Elm tree, has been used by indigenous people for many years and is now employed by both herbal and orthodox medicines. Slippery elm bark powder is pale pink-brown in colour and its distinctive slimy and slippery texture, when mixed with moisture, it applied to conditions where mucous membranes are irritated/inflamed. This includes membranes of the respiratory and urinary systems as well as the entire gastro-intestinal tract, including the throat and oesophagus. For horses, slippery elm bark powder is most commonly used internally, to treat conditions such as scouring (diarrhoea) and gastric ulceration and as aftercare in some types of colic cases. It soothes and coats injured and inflamed tissues, helping them to heal and reducing the likelihood of scarring, as well as drawing out toxins and irritants. Externally, the bark powder is used for poulticing wounds/injuries.

Turmeric is a good source of vitamin B6, a high intake of which is associated with a lowered risk of heart disease.
Curcumin exhibits anticoagulant effects – allowing blood to flow correctly and inhibiting abnormal blood clot formation (thrombosis).
It is to that vivid yellow-orange pigment – curcumin – that potent therapeutic properties are attributed. It is powerfully antioxidant (significantly more so than vitamin E or C) and this ability to neutralise free radicals before they damage healthy cells and cell membranes, in conjunction with its anti-inflammatory effects (via a number of pathways), contribute to its role in preventing or alleviating an impressive array of conditions, including many cancers, arthritis, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, cardiovascular disease, liver ailments, and Alzheimer’s.
Turmeric assists with the following:
ARTHRITIS
CANCER
LIVER FUNCTION
GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT
CARDIOVASCULAR EFFECTS

Flaxseeds [Linseed] it has a number of nutritional benefits, the most notable being its high omega-3 content.
They may assist in reducing inflammation, assist with arthritis or joint stiffness.
They also boosts the immune system and can help regulate thyroid function, making it an ideal supplement for metabolic horses as well as aging horses.

Debrisol Wound Spray aids in removing pus, dead and decaying tissue from wounds and to promote healing with minimum scarring.

in-sandout is the new intestinal sand removal solution for your equine partner. Sand ingestion leads to devastating issues in horses. Sand can be consumed inadvertently by horses that are maintained on sandy soils, short pasture or fed hay or grain in sandy areas. This sand then accumulates in the large colon. Problems associated with sand accumulation include chronic and intermittent diarrhoea, weight loss and colic. It may further impair gut health due to irritation and obstruction of the intestinal tract.

Research shows that psyllium husks & magnesium sulphate in combination, at a proper dosage, are effective at removing &, limiting accumulation of sand & mitigating sand-related issues. However, an issue with feeding psyllium husks on their own is many horses dislike the taste & texture of the high inclusion of this fibre.

in-sandout pellet is a sand removal solution that contains quality psyllium husks & magnesium sulphate with an optimised dosage regimen. in-sandout is formulated as a pellet with natural flavours & sweeteners for optimal intake & palatability.

in-sandout can also be used in conjunction with in-sideout, in-force, in-stride, in-fusion msm & in-fusion ha.

Benefits of in-sandout:
Stimulates gastrointestinal health & motility
Supports removal & avoids accumulation of sand
Highly palatable & easy to feed
Sugar-free
Backed by science
Feeding Instructions:
Add in usual feed
Feed for no longer than 7 days per month
Ensure clean potable water is available at all times
Ensure horse's bowel movements are regular prior to feeding
Take caution if feeding supplements containing magnesium, you may need to cease while feeding in-sandout otherwise magnesium toxicity may occur
DO NOT feed if impaction/intestinal blockage is present
For best results, we recommend feeding with in-sideout to restore optimal intestinal health
Suggested Feeding Rates:
Feeding rate is dependent on sand load in the horse.
Prevention - 0.6g/kg of body weight for 5-7 days
Removal - 1.2g/kg of body weight for 5-7 days

1x 250mL cup = approx. 200g of in-sandout

Equest Plus Tape wormer for horses controls tapeworm in addition to all the other major gastrointestinal worms and bots. Equest Plus Tape is the only horse wormer that is long acting: re-treatment is recommended after 14-16 weeks compared to after 6-8 weeks with other wormers. This means fewer treatments per year and twice the time that pastures are left free of worm eggs.
Equest Plus Tape is also the only horse wormer to have a registered claim to control encysted small strongyles in a single dose. Small strongyle worms hibernate or encyst in the lining of the horses gut and can cause colic. While other horse wormers kill the small strongyle worms that are in the gut itself, Equest Plus Tape is the only wormer with a registered claim to also kill the encysted forms. This means that the life cycle is blocked at a much earlier stage and that no small strongyle worms can re-emerge and mature in the horses gut straight after worming. Equest Plus Tape is a unique gel formulation that dissolves rapidly on the tongue. The dial up syringe is designed with a narrow barrel to allow easy access into the side of the horses mouth and deliver the right dose every time. Equest Plus Tape is safe for pregnant mares and breeding stallions as well as foal over 4 weeks of age.

REGAIN®, AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVE TO MITAVITE® & HYGAIN®!

Regain® is a rapid electrolyte replacer formulated for horses to replace body salts lost during exercise, hot climatic conditions and as an aid in the treatment of dehydration, hypochloraemia and alkalosis.

Contains 215g/kg sodium, 468.5g/kg chloride, 152g/kg potassium and 17.25g/kg magnesium.

Sodium and Chloride: Common salt (NaCl), which is composed of two ions, sodium (Na+) and chloride (Cl-). They are the major electrolytes of the body.

Potassium: One of potassium’s major roles is to maintain and ensure correct cellular osmotic pressure which affects the sensitivity of nerves and muscles to impulses. Horses suffering from a lack of potassium are prone to fatigue, muscle weakness, exercise intolerance, tying-up and decreased water intake.

Magnesium: Magnesium plays a critical role as a co-factor in over 300 enzymatic reactions within the body. Magnesium is also required for muscle function and is essential for DNA to send messages to the cells.

Calcium: Deficiencies of calcium in its ionic form may lead to muscle weakness and conditions such as tying-up and 'thumps'.
