WSD ABAMECTIN ORAL DRENCH FOR SHEEP AND LAMBS contains
Abamectin (0.8 g/L), a member of the macrocyclic lactone family of drenches. It is effective
against abamectin sensitive strains of adult and larval stages of the following internal parasites:
Haemonchus contortus Barbers pole worm
Ostertagia spp Small brown stomach worm
Trichostrongylus spp Black scour worm
Cooperia spp Small intestinal worm
Nematodirus spp Thin necked intestinal worm
Dictyocaulus filaria Lung worm
WARNING
Internal parasites may develop resistance to drenches. Ask your local veterinary adviser for
recommended parasite management practices for your area to reduce development of
resistance. It is advisable that a drench resistance test be conducted before any drench is used.
If drench failure with this preparation is suspected, seek veterinary conrmation and notify the
manufacturer
DIRECTIONS FOR USE RESTRAINTS
DO NOT USE in female sheep which are producing or may in the future produce milk or milk
products for human consumption. DO NOT treat lambs under six (6) weeks of age.
ADMINISTRATION
WSD Abamectin can be administered orally through standard accurate drenching equipment.
Clean equipment thoroughly before and after use.
DOSE RATES
Dose sheep orally to the heaviest animal by liveweight in each group (ewes, rams and lambs) and
these should be weighed with scales or weighband. Do not underdose. Use 1 mL of Abamectin /
4 kg bodyweight for animals in excess of 64 kg. Where there is a large variation in size within the
group, dose rate should be based on the label directions for each weight range. Drafting into two
or more lines may be appropriate to avoid excessive overdosing
WITHHOLDING PERIODS
DO NOT USE less than fourteen (14) days before slaughter for human consumption. DO NOT
USE in female sheep which are producing or may in the future produce milk or milk products for
human consumption.
TRADE ADVICE: EXPORT SLAUGHTER INTERVAL (ESI)
DO NOT USE less than 14 days before slaughter for export. The ESI on this label was correct at
the time of label approval. Before using this product, conrm the current ESI from the
